This coffee comes from the Bombe Abore station in Bonz Zuria district in the Sidama region. The washing station sits next to the incredible Bok Nora Waterfall which provides fresh water for washing coffee. This station was established in 1996 and is an example of excellence and resilience in the Ethiopian coffee scene. The site sits high on the mountain at about 2020 masl and processes both washed and natural coffees from 1022 farmers growing on the surrounding mountainsides. Due to extremely high elevation, the harvest tends to happen later here, and runs frmo December through February. This is the second year we have purchased from the Bombe Abore station and the fresh lot is tasting perfect! We get notes of ripe fruit like blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry, with a vanilla flower finish. This coffee is fully traceable and price transparent through our importer partners at The Coffee Quest.
